Canadians Okay With Immigration, Survey Reveals

Debates are everywhere. Many have been organizing debates and discussions so as to see if Canada is really doing what is right by still allowing immigration as it currently is while other countries have definitely limited the number of immigrants coming to their territories. Others have even put on very tight policies to make sure that immigration is not that easy.

With the huge number of countries around the world, it seems like only Canada is quite welcoming to immigrants. It has opened its doors to all who would like to live in the place and this is not just the government that we are talking about. Even Canadians have remained quite positive on immigration and that is something worth looking into.

Canadians still continue to have positive thoughts on immigration

A survey was done in Canada. This was done to all shows of The Globe and Mail, a newspaper that provides news and is based in Canada. It is distributed in the whole country. This survey wanted to check just how the citizens of the country really feel and think about immigration. The results have reflected that a huge portion of the country still feel positive about the whole thing like it has done so half a year earlier.

According to the results of the survey, out of 10 Canadians, eight believe that immigrants are beneficial to the Canadian economy. This is quite true as immigrants are the top choice of business owners when it comes to employees.

The results were published recently. On the results, the Environics Institute for Survey Research executive director, Keith Neuman, has shared that the public opinion on immigration has best become stable. There has not been a lot of changes on how Canadians look at it. Positivity still remains.

The rules of the survey

According to the organizers of the survey, they had conducted the study in April. It was a follow up to a survey that had similar questions which they had done last October. It was all about looking at how the public thought on immigration and if they had changed their thoughts on this. After all, the Trump election in the US has been making quite a noise and they wanted to look if this has changed how people thought of immigration in Canada.

This was a very timely survey as the Trump policies on immigration has actually bred quite a lot of discussions around the world and countries are even looking at tightening their own policies on immigration. The change in opinion on immigration has definitely changed in the United States but it seems not to have changed how the public views immigration in Canada.
