No More Stickers: Immigration New Zealand Decides To Go Digital

In this day and age, digital is the way to go. This is most likely because when one goes digital, it allows him (or her) to have mobility. They can pretty much access everything through their gadgets and not need to be stuck in just one place. This goes true especially for those companies that are trying to use a lot less paper (and save more trees in the process). Companies have also gone digital because it allows them to have a broader market and business can run 24/7 even as CEOs are fully asleep.

In the case of New Zealand, this country has decided to go digital as well. This means that there are going to be a lot less expenses on paper and stickers as visa stickers are going to be out of the picture. The Immigration New Zealand has decided that going digital is the best way to go for them. That means, those who are going to get visas from the country will not have to deal with visa stickers anymore.

The announcement on visa stickers

The Immigration New Zealand, the official arm of the government that deals with immigration and such, have announced just recently that visa stickers would be a thing of the past in New Zealand. Starting the 4th of July this year, the INZ will not be issuing the visa stickers that are basically physical labels for those who have been approved of visas. So to be able to know which passports have been given visas, in place of the stickers, individuals would be getting their visas via email and these would be known as electronic visas or e-Visas.

Not all people are quite happy about this especially those who are not into the techie side. However, this change seems to be quite a good one as it would mean a lot less expenses on paper and the production of these stickers. With computers being the major channel for transactions and such, getting e-Visas would be just quite good. It would mean that there is no need for printing and mobile phones can carry these visas.

The changes to the passport

At present, all visas from New Zealand have been given through a paper which had a sticker on it. This piece of paper is not just any ordinary paper as it is included in the passport of those who have been getting the approval. With the changes that would be happening quite soon, the e-Visa would not be given via paper form but would be sent electronically. Those who would be receiving such can actually print it out or have the actual email saved on their phones. Those who are always on the go may opt not to print it out while there are still those who would like a printed form of the visa.
