Exhibit Shows Canada Immigrant Stories

Canada has been accepting quite a huge amount of immigrants each year. This is not a really surprising thing as the country is known to be quite open to immigration and the country is not keeping a maximum number of people as limit. Instead, what they are doing is they are keeping a minimum number of people to accept. So this means that the more people who come to the country, the better it is for Canada’s goals.

In recent news, a new exhibit has opened in the country. This is meant for all of those immigrants who are in the country and it is also for all of those people who would like to understand basically just what immigration feels like for plenty of people. The very first day of getting to a new country can be quite a big deal and not a lot of people have the guts to do it.

The emotional exhibit

Most exhibits are all about showing people just what they need to know about some things. In the case of this newest exhibit in Canada, this one is all about seeing just what the country is to all of those first timers who have made it to the country as immigrants. It is all about showing just how these people must have felt during the first time that they have stepped on Canadian soil. And all of those who have already seen and experienced just how it is would be able to understand and feel the whole experience all over again.

The exhibit can be found in the Waterloo Region Museum. It is known as Canada: Day 1. And it is all about showcasing just what it feels like during an immigrant’s first day in the country. What is interesting about this exhibit is that it goes all around the country. Backing it up is the Canadian Museum of Immigration and it came into being back in June of 2014. This exhibit definitely displays just how it is for immigrants who have left their lives in their home country to face an unsure future on new soil.

A sense of immigration

Not all people understand immigrants and those who want to know how it is can go and view this exhibit. There are plenty of aspects that come into play for an immigrant in Canada. There is the transition to a new country and culture. There is the arrival to the country. There are also first encounters with people and places. And then there is also the factor of finding their way through a new country. It is definitely very insightful and those who get to see it leave the exhibit knowing and feeling more for immigrants than they usually did.
