Canada Awards Citizenship To Batch Of Successful Applicants

For many immigrants in Canada, the journey towards becoming a citizen of the country has started way before they have left their home countries. With the work that they put into being able to be approved as an immigrant, to preparing themselves and their families to make the move, adjusting to the new country, and plenty of other obstacles, one can simply say that being a citizen of Canada is definitely not smooth sailing.

Recently, the country held a ceremony where they welcomed the newest batch of individuals who were previously immigrants in the country and are now the newest citizens of Canada. This is definitely a really good thing to attend because one can definitely see a range of emotions during such. All the relief and the happiness and the tears of joy and remembering the journey that they had to go through to get to this moment – one can definitely experience that during such an event.

The journey for many

One of the newest citizens of Canada is born and raised in Nigeria. This guy first found his way to Canada as an immigrant. He made his way to the country to further his studies so he was first a student immigrant. He wanted to learn more about management of water and land. He was all alone at first, adapting to the life in the country. Eventually, he was able to move on and adjust to the new life he has. Now, he has his own family in the country for he has successfully brought them there as well. He and his entire family are among the newest citizens of Canada.

This is just the story of one. Talking to the other people who are now citizens of Canada would reveal a variety of stories. They may all seem different but, for some reason, they are all the same. The journey was long and hard and not for the faint of heart. But they did not give up and they finally did it. Now, they are proud to call themselves Canadians.

The ceremony

There were a total of 40 individuals who have been awarded citizenship by Canada. During the ceremony, they were now able to pledge their allegiance to the country being citizens. They also had signed the pertinent documents that told everyone of their new citizenship. They also now sang the Canadian national anthem for the first time as citizens of this country.

What was even more interesting about the whole ceremony was that the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship (also known as the IRCC), Ahmed Hussen, was present during the whole thing. He was the one who welcomed all of the new individuals to join the country as citizens. And this does not happen that often.
