Researchers and Graduates May Get Less Strict UK Visa Policies

If this pushes through, researchers and graduates who are eyeing the United Kingdom to continue with their personal plans may just have it a lot easier as compared to all other individuals who are planning on going to the UK. This is one of the newest plans of the British government as they are thinking about putting lesser restrictions on the policies for a UK visa for researchers and graduates. However, there is still a need for a good plan that would help build the number of immigrant students in the country as per an immigration article published just recently.

The government of the United Kingdom is currently working on the possible rules for immigration so that the rules would be easier for the graduates and researchers who are planning on coming to the country. This should also attract more of these to come and be an immigrant there. The country is targeting this certain group especially those who are also looking for work there.

The possible changes to the UK visa rules

As per the proposed changes, the new rules may just give students the chance to switch and have a visa for skilled workers. Of course, before they are able to get this, researchers and graduates may just need to first complete their degree. If they have not yet finished their degree and course, then the possible new rules would still not apply to them. This is according to a detailed document that was published just recently and given by the Budget bureau.

Suggestions are also coming in. One would be to actually be ready to provide extension to rules for visa for all of those student immigrants who are still trying to get courses for a master’s degree. This would only have to be for those students who are trying to get master’s degrees in the Imperial College London, Bath University, Cambridge University, and Oxford University. There was no mention of other universities and colleges in the country.

The issues that come with it

But there are issues. There will always be issues no matter what. One would be those that come with what would be happening after the United Kingdom chooses to finalize its exit from the European Union. The questions that come in include if the researchers and graduates from the European Union would also be included in those that would be given more lenient rules. This has yet to be given a final answer by the UK government.

The very purpose of changing the immigration policies for researchers and graduates is so that the UK would start honing and embracing those top minds of the world. By having them work in the country, the UK just may become one of the strongest and best countries in the world in different fields and industries.
