Good news for all of those individuals who
are interested in moving to Canada. Recently, the officials of Canada
Immigration have decided to bring back a program that has brought families
together in Canada. This is the lottery system and it is all for choosing the
right individuals who would be part of the Parents and Grandparents Program. It
has been reopened just this 2nd of January. Many individuals are now happy that
this program has been brought back because it means that there are more chances
of bringing parents and grandparents with them in Canada. After all, family is
everything.
According to reports, there were more
additional questions that were included in the form that individuals need to
fill up to be a part of the program. This form is known as the Interest to
Sponsor. By adding such questions, the immigration department of Canada would
have a lot easier time taking out those that are not eligible and make the
process faster for those who are eligible. Those who are eligible would then be
included in the lottery.
The
problem with the program earlier
When the program came into being before,
the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (which is also known as the
IRCC and is the official branch of the Canadian government that deals with such)
got quite a huge number of criticisms because of the program. For those who
threw criticism, it was because the program was brought in quite late back in
2016. There were a lot less interested individuals than expected and had some
problems with the submissions and so a second lottery had to be done a year
later.
With that, the IRCC had decided to look
into the whole process and the program so that any of the rough patches would
get smoothed out. The office also promised to act on any of the rough edges
that really were not working well. Thus, the additional questions were brought
in so that those that are not eligible would be taken out of the draw and give
the staff more time to go through those that were eligible for the lottery.
The
development of the changes to the program
A statement was released by the IRCC on the
changes that they have made. The office had mentioned that what they did was to
make sure that the system would be a lot more efficient than before. It also
disclosed that by having such changes, they hope to bring in more of eligible
sponsors processed so that they can bring their grandparents and their parents
to the country as long as all requirements are met. The questions would filter
those that are not eligible and so there would be more time to give to those
who are eligible.
