30 new individuals have made their way to
Canada as immigrants. Now, they have recently become official citizens of the
country and these immigrants, of course, are more than happy that they have
made it and achieved their goal. It definitely took these individuals a long
time and a lot of hard work to be able to get this far and they are more than
happy that they have now become citizens of the country. After all, Canada is
quite a good country to be an immigrant (and a resident of).
Recently, there have been 30 new
individuals who have become citizens of Canada and this was done through a
citizenship ceremony. These new residents have come from 14 different countries
from around the world and the list of home countries includes Jordan, Russia,
Trinidad, and Vietnam. Their ages are also varied and the youngest is seven
years old. The ceremony is known as the Oath of Citizenship and this ceremony
made these 14 immigrants the newest citizens of the country.
Choosing
multiculturalism
For one of the newest citizens, the trip to
Canadian citizenship was not an easy one. Sara Jamalel Dein Altantawi is only
sixteen years old but she has gone through a lot with her family. She hails
from Jordan and eight years ago, she moved to Canada as an immigrant because she
and her family were looking for an easier life than what they had in Jordan.
They believed in Canada being a place where opportunities were better. Now, she
is a citizen of the country. In a statement, she has proudly declared that she
is very proud that she can now be called a citizen.
This story is very much like others. There
may have been a lot of reasons for choosing Canada but one of the top things
that have been bringing immigrants to the country is that the country is known
for embracing multiculturalism. And this means that it does not matter what
race, religion, color, gender, or beliefs one may have as this is not a big
deal in Canada.
The
benefits of being a citizen
Being a citizen of Canada comes with its
share of benefits and rights. A citizen of the country will have the freedom of
speech. They can also be able to participate in a variety of activities that
come with the democratic nature of the country’s government. These may be just
a few but these are the things that many citizens of the country hold dear to
their heart. After all, there are plenty of things that Canada has got to offer
that not many people are able to experience and enjoy in their own countries.
