Putting false information is never a good
thing. Nothing good can ever come out of it in the end. It is some sort of
fraud and fraud is punishable by law. People who do this sometimes want to get
the easy way to their goal or they are trying to hide something. But this is
definitely not good. In fact, there are rules and it is important that these
rules are followed because what good would rules be if they are not going to be
followed.
In the case of New Zealand, there are
issues now being tackled in false information on applications for student
visas. Of course, the government is having none of this and so investigations
on such are currently being held. It is important that everyone plays by the
rules and so those who would be found guilty of giving false information would
be held responsible for being such. It would also mean that it is highly
possible that those who would be found guilty would have to leave the country
and go back to their home countries.
Who
is responsible?
The recent issues on student visas and
false information have had the Ombudsman working on it as well. The Ombudsman
has been in agreement with the Immigration New Zealand, the official arm of the
NZ government that deals with immigration and such, that those students who are
found guilty of such should be held responsible for this. The most recent issue
had been on false information that has been given on their finances. This is
part of the questions on the applications for student visas.
Those who have been found guilty on providing
false financial data on their student visa applications were not given the
chance to get any more visas from the country. Some were also given the warning
that they can be deported back to their country as they have been found guilty
of doing fraud. However, on the side of the students, they are claiming that
they did not know about this and such false information has been done by their
agents.
How
this came to be
There are hundreds of immigrants in the
country that are affected by such an issue. This issue was first discovered
back in 2016. When this was discovered, the Immigration New Zealand had done
something about it and what they did was they checked the applications of those
students who were already in NZ. That was when they were able to find out the
immigrants who had fraudulent information.
This also prompted the INZ to be more
careful on the applications coming in and it is a warning to all of those other
individuals who may be planning on providing false information. Giving the
right information is the way to go and should allow immigrants to live daily in
the country without having to fear that they would be deported.
