The government of Canada has recently announced its plans with regard to immigration. According to the announcement, the country will be increasing the total amount of immigrants that it would be welcoming each year. Ahmen Hussen works as the Minister of Immigration in Canada and he has said that the country is working on solutions to help the decreasing amount of people in the labor market and the aging population.

One of the plans that the country has to serve as a solution to their current issues would be to have a new immigration plan that would be running for a number of years and would come in different levels. The plan also includes a higher amount of individuals being granted permanent residency statuses. In fact, Hussen has mentioned that the country would be granting the highest amount of permanent residency statuses as compared to previous years. This would help the country to retain the needed new blood and have them help out the labor market and the aging population. By next year, the country expects to increase immigration to 350,000 for each year. That is a 29% increase from 2015’s number.

For 2019, citizens of India who were given permanent residency statuses have gone up to 85,585 which is over 117% increase as compared to the number in 2016 which was 39,340. Analysts who have been looking at the trend have mentioned that Canada has been receiving benefits from immigrants including those from India. The analysis has mentioned that many Indians are tech workers and they are joined by other tech workers from other countries. Canada has become a hub for tech companies and these workers are able to help out with the labor.
