Canada has not been given that much attention as much as its
neighbor, the United States of America. It is not as loud nor as powerful. But
why is it that a lot of individuals are looking at Canada when it comes to
immigration? There must be something good to Canada that is attracting a huge
number of individuals to choose to relocate there.
In recent years, the numbers of individuals who have shown
interest in Canada immigration has grown. One of the factors may have been the
recent election in the United States. And then there are also other issues in
other countries around the world that has subjected their residents to look for
other countries that are greener pastures. Canada is one of the popular
choices.
Open for immigrants
What is interested about Canada is that it is a country that
has its arms open for immigrants who are interested in growing roots in their
land. They are not selfish with what they have to offer. And so this type of
attitude towards migrants is making a lot of people choose it over other
countries in the world.
Another great thing about the country is that if you have
been living in the country for a certain number of years, they have a program
where you can automatically become a permanent resident without much ado. This
is definitely another plus factor for the country.
Immigrants and their
categories
When you are going to be an immigrant to Canada, you would
learn that there are three categories that immigrants are categorized into. It
would depend your qualifications and what group they would be put into.
Family Class is one of the categories. This is the category
where all those relatives connected by blood can be found. These relatives
should be those who have family who are already citizens or residents of the
country. So if your mother is already a resident of Canada and you wish to be
an immigrant there, you will be categorized into this group.
Another category is the Independent Immigrants. These are
the individuals who have gone through the whole process and have no relatives
or family in the country. They have immigrated to the country all on their own.
In the previous example, your mother may be considered an Independent Immigrant
if she has no relatives whatsoever in the country who are residents or are
citizens.
The third category is the Refugees. You are considered to be
a refugee if you have a fear that you will be persecuted in your home country
because of a variety of factors which may include race, political opinion,
membership in a group, religion, or nationality.
Your categorization will depend on certain requirements and
your background. The Canadian immigration personnel will be the one to show you
which group you belong to.
