Those who are planning to be immigrants to
Canada are more than happy to learn about a new immigration program that should
allow them to get to the country of their choice. This is basically set out to
bring immigrants to one of the Canadian provinces, Manitoba. Such a program is
one of Canada’s ways of bringing new people to the province. Mostly, immigrants
to the country choose to go to the larger and more popular cities, making these
cities quite populated. To be able to bring the right amount of immigrants and
workers to the less known provinces of the country, programs such as these have
been put in place.
This new program is known as the Manitoba
nominee program and it has already set out almost 500 invitations to a variety
of individuals around the globe. The exact number? 494. Just six shy of
reaching 500. These personal invitations, also known as Invitations to Apply
(or ITA), went out just a few weeks ago.
The
invitations that were sent out
From the total of 494 ITAs that were sent
out, 458 of the total were given to those workers with skills who were already
living in Manitoba. Those workers that were given the ITAs were actually those
immigrants who already have at the very least 612 points as their score. The
scoring system is a requirement for all of those immigrants who wish to be
given a permanent resident status in the country.
There were also 36 ITAs that were sent out.
These were given out under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which is also
known as the SRI. This SRI is part of the province’s Provincial Nominee Program
(or PNP). The 36 ITAs were given to those workers with skills who were in other
countries. Of course, the minimum score that was needed was 712 points to be
given the invitation. For clarification, the SRI is actually when there are
permanent residents are put together in one batch. This batch is then given the
ITA especially if there is a need to fulfill a specialized market that needs a
specific labor or skill.
Professions
that were given ITAs
Although the ITAs were sent out to
professionals and skilled workers that were needed in the province of Manitoba,
there were some professions that were not contained in the list of those that
were given ITAs. Those ITAs were given were to those workers who were from
abroad. As per the professions that were not given ITAs included school
teachers for secondary education and elementary education; professors of
universities; general physicians and physicians with specializations;
instructors of vocational courses and instructors of colleges; and registered
nurses. The reason for this is because these are the professions that the
province is not in need of.
