More Citizens in Canada, Thanks to Changes In Citizenship Rules

Changes to the rules in gaining citizenship in Canada have been done and this happened and was put into action last year, October 2017. According to the agency, they have already estimated around 152,000 individuals who have had received their citizenships already. And this is just for the end of September or October this year. This is the number that the branch has already been able to tally since the changes to the rules have been done just last year. 152,000 is definitely big.

The changes that have been done were actually more on reducing the total time that citizenships can be granted to individuals who have applied and who have passed all the requirements set by the government. This is because the changes have said that there would be a lot less in the total days that a person has to be in the country to be able to apply as citizen. This means that there would be more people who would be able to apply because of this big change.

Before the changes were made

Before, the rules had it that those who wanted to be a citizen of Canada had to be physically in the country for four years out of six whole years. Now, with the changes done last year, the number was lessened. People are now required to be physically present in the country for only three years as compared to the four before, out of a total of five years as compared to the six years previously.
