According to Statistics Canada, the total of job vacancies for the third quarter of 2021 actually was 62.1% higher as compared to the total for the third quarter of 2019, which was 349,700. The data also showed that the highest increase for these job vacancies was noted to happen in three provinces in Canada: Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Ontario. Out of the 20 major sectors of industries, 18 of these experienced an increase in job vacancies for the same periods. Almost 68% of the increase took place in five major sectors and these are healthcare and social assistance, retail trade, manufacturing, construction, and accommodation and food services.
