These cities had to have more than a million people as their population. There were also other criteria involved in creating the final list, and that included outdoor space, gross domestic product, universities, weather, attractions, nightlife, labor force participation, safety, and many others.

 

Toronto did not only take the 24th spot in the list, but it also topped all cities in Canada. It got high marks for economic growth, which is said to be because of global investment and immigration in the country. Many immigrants choose Toronto as the place where they would start their new life in Canada, and that is not surprising given the many things that Toronto has to offer. Toronto is also said to have quite a diverse community since around half of the population of the city has been born outside Canada. The city has also received high marks when it comes to the category of education, as it has been included in the list of the most educated cities in the entire world.

While Toronto has taken the top spot among all cities in Canada, there are four more cities in the country that have been included in the list. Montreal placed 57th on the list. It got high marks for culture. Calgary found itself at rank 65 and got high marks for its high GDP and young population. Vancouver was ranked 69 and got high marks for its natural setting. And Ottawa came at the 96th spot for having a low cost of living.
