Many foreigners see the United States of America as the best country to start new lives in. They would do whatever is required to be able to meet what the government of the country asks for those who want to be immigrants. That is why thousands and thousands of new immigrants enter the country each year. The United States of America has long been seen as the land of opportunity, thus its popularity as one of the top countries for immigration in the entire world.
The USA’s Bureau of Consular Affairs had recently created a
list of the top countries that have consistently been receiving the most
immigrant visas each year. To be able to move to the USA, one must have a visa,
which is basically a permit that a person needs to be able to enter the
country. These visas are available in two categories – immigrant and non-immigrant.
Immigrant and non-immigrant visas
Immigrant visas are based on family or employment. The goal
with immigrant visas is for the individual holding such to actually work their
way towards getting a permanent residency status in the United States of America.
This can be done by being granted green cards or a US citizenship.
Non-immigrant visas are usually given to individuals who
would be serving as temporary workers in the USA. They can also be given to
individuals who are going to be in the country for travel and touring purposes.
This kind of visa has an expiration date and is really not the path toward
getting a green card or a US citizenship. Those who get non-immigrant visas include
the members of the press, foreign military personnel who have been stationed in
the USA, athletes, and diplomatic representatives, among many others.
