The processing of applications to become immigrant workers in Canada can take a long time, especially for people who are not that patient. However, there is good news for potential immigrant workers who are in the film and TV industry. According to recent information from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (which is also known as the IRCC), their officers and staff will now start to give priority to the processing of applications of immigrant workers who would be working in the TV and film industry. These individuals would need a Temporary Resident Visa and the IRCC will prioritize such applications.
The TRV is actually a necessity for individuals who do not
have citizenship in Canada and come from a country that is visa-exempt. To be
able to get them into the country and start the jobs that they need to do, the
IRCC will prioritize their applications and the processing may only take two
weeks to complete.
The new policy for immigrants
This new policy has been announced just last September 28 on
the website of the IRCC. This makes the processing of applications for TRVs to
be completed in just two weeks. Of course, it is important that people who
would be working in the film and TV industry in Canada should remember that
they would need to still undergo quarantine when they enter the country. The
required quarantine period would be 14 days.
It is also important that these individuals who would be
immigrant workers are not sick because if they are, they may not be given a permit
to work. They should also have a very important reason why they are going to
Canada. They should also show proof that they have the ability to undergo
quarantine in Canada for two weeks as part of the protocol. These are very
important things to keep in mind because these are the new rules set to help
not spread the novel coronavirus that has caused the global pandemic.
Restrictions in provinces and territories
It is also important to note that there are provinces and
territories in Canada that may have their own restrictions with regards to
travel. This is why the IRCC would like to remind all applicants to check the
regulations in the province or the territory where they would be doing their
work before they embark on their trip. This is essential so that they would
know if going there would not be a problem for them or if they can actually go
there. It would also allow them to prepare for any other requirements that the
province or the territory where they are supposed to go would probably ask of
them. It is best that they are prepared for that rather than be surprised once
they get there that they cannot go to where they are supposed to go because
they do not have what is required of them.
